Our Story

Hi there, I'm Linda! 🤗

I hope you don't mind if I ask you a lighthearted question - If you could go back in time and bring something back with you, what would it be? As for me, I would bring a box of chocolates that I used to share with my mentors during team meetings in my early work experience after college. These chocolates are dear to my heart because they remind me of the wonderful sense of connection and belonging I felt with my team, and this feeling still stays with me today. 🍫

That sense of connection and belonging is what inspired me to create Chocolat Couture Studio, my sustainable petite resort wear brand.

As a petite woman myself and a sewing enthusiast, I understand the struggle of finding clothes that fit just right and make us feel confident and comfortable. I believe that feeling confident is important. We can become more confident by learning new things and looking at the world differently. Traveling to new places has changed my way of thinking and has made me more creative. This motivation is the core of Chocolat Couture Studio. I am excited to introduce a travel capsule wardrobe that is not just environmentally friendly, but also a celebration of your unique style.

 

 

The fast fashion industry is known for promoting a culture where clothes are quickly discarded, which has harmful effects on both people and the planet. The constant production and disposal of clothing leads to a significant amount of waste that ends up in landfills, releasing harmful chemicals and dyes into the environment. Unfortunately, this approach also leads to poor working conditions and low wages for the workers involved. This issue is personal to me because my mother, who inspired my love for sewing, used to work at a faux leather factory in China, where I witnessed firsthand the unsafe and unhealthy conditions.

Hope is on the horizon! The fashion industry is gradually moving towards a more sustainable future, and we can all play a part in the solution by supporting brands that prioritize sustainable practices, such as recycling textiles and fair labor practices. In fact, Massachusetts, USA imposed a new textile disposal ban on November 1, 2022, to support this idea.

 

 

At Chocolat Couture Studio, we recognize that achieving full sustainability in our products is a work in progress. However, we are committed to minimizing waste and our main focus is on choosing the most suitable fabrics.

We love using materials that are kind to the Earth, like biodegradable vegan fabrics. We also team up with our suppliers to use natural dyes and environmentally friendly inks for printing on our fabrics. We're committed to two things: creating high-quality, one-of-a-kind designs, and sticking to our values of eco-friendly and ethical fashion. We want you to feel fabulous in our clothes, confident in their quality, and proud of the positive environmental impact your choice supports. 💚
